Formed in 2021, Vinyl Rush is a power trio blending the best of rock's past and future. The group consists of lifelong childhood friends Cody Toplak (guitar), Dante Fioravanti (bass), and Nic Alvine (drums) - three musicians whose influences span decades of iconic music encapsulating the revolutionary sounds from the 60's to today's cutting-edge production and genre experimentation. Known for their electrifying live performances, the band has become a local favorite, drawing large and loyal crowds from all over with performances that are equal parts concert and spectacle. They’re known for taking cover songs to the next level, reinventing them with bold twists and a personality that makes them unmistakably their own.
Melding sounds from classic, progressive, alternative rock, funk, jazz, and elements of pop, weaves together a sound that's both familiar and refreshingly new. Bold harmonies, intricate rhythms, and experimental touches define their style — ultimately pushing themselves past the boundaries of the genre while staying rooted in the rock tradition.
Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a family of musicians, I was constantly surrounded by instruments and a wide catalog of music. At age seven, I began formal lessons on the violin at a local music store. Over the years, I developed a strong foundation in classical music through solo performances and participation in junior and youth orchestras. However, everything changed around the age of thirteen when I was introduced to rock music. I was immediately captivated by the power and emotion a single guitarist could channel through their instrument. That same fascination led me to pick up my mom’s Fender Stratocaster and ever since I was hooked. Thanks to my classical background and years of disciplined practice, the transition to guitar came naturally. From that point on, I dedicated countless hours to learning the songs and styles that inspired me.
My influences come from many amazing musicians/guitarists, including Guthrie Govan, Synyster Gates, Steve Vai, Alex Lifeson, and Richie Kotzen. Each of these players has shaped the way I approach tone, technique, and musical storytelling.
Today, I’m proud to be pursuing my passion as the guitarist of Vinyl Rush and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
My current equipment list includes:
My drumming journey began at the age of 10 with local drum legend John Rozum. I’m a rock drummer at heart with a passion for rhythm and dynamics, shaped by the sounds of Rush, Led Zeppelin, Tool, and Stone Temple Pilots. I’ve always been drawn to the way drums can drive a song—whether it’s the intricate precision of Neil Peart or Danny Carey or the raw groove of John Bonham.
I’m currently studying under John's son Shane Rozum, who’s been instrumental in helping me refine my technique and expand my versatility behind the kit. It’s all about creating a sound that’s powerful, expressive, and locked in—something that pushes the music forward and connects with the crowd. My current equipment list includes:
